WHY DO DOGS NEED SHOES?

Dog shoes, while a dramatic fashion statement, are also beneficial to the health and well being of a dog. Much like people's feet, dog paws are susceptible to the ravages of the elements. Heat, cold, allergies, dangerous terrain, sharp objects, and slippery surfaces all can take a toll on the well being of a hound’s paws. Also, for dogs with forms of arthritis or hip dysplasia, dog shoes can provide extra cushioning to a hunting dog’s stride. A well-developed shoe not only protects dogs but their owners’ investments as well. Hardwood floors, linoleum, carpets, car and boats seats, cloth, and leather upholstery can all fall victim to damage from a dog’s nails.
